Welcome!
Thank you for supporting my small business. If you have any problems, you can contact me via the live chat button here.
Bambu Light Mod quick start guide:
1. Start by taking off the AMS unit and removing the top glass of your printer

2. Go to the back of the printer and remove the two top screws as shown in the image. After that, the top-left side of the back panel will be loose, and you will be able to bend it slightly.

3. Take the magnetic LED assembly and place it inside on the top right side of the printer as shown in the images; it will magnetize in place—no modification needed.

4. Fish the wire through the hole on the back part of the printer as shown in the image.

5. Carefully move the back panel ( the one with the 2 screws that we took off)and fish the wire from the back of the printer (inside); it should be very easy to see the wire when you bent the panel. (don't use force; it should be very easy). Follow the images.

6. Pull the wire carufly from the back to the left side of the back panel, there is a notch there; fish the wire outside of the pannel through that notch, follow the images.

7. Now reverse the process by screwing back the 2 screws we took off before.

8. Now, look at the 2-pin JST connector. The connector has one side with 2 holes and 1 side without any holes. Face the side with the 2 holes up (towards you), and press the cables in. The cables have one side with a small pin picking up, which is the side that needs to be faced up towards the 2 open holes.
THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT - Red wire goes on the RIGHT side of the connector, and the other wire (Green or White) goes on the LEFT side.
Follow the images:

In addition, make sure the 2 pins sit all the way in. If you feel you can push them with your hands, try using a toothpick or a small tool to push them all the way in. Follow the images

9. Now, before connecting everything, let's do a dry fit test to make sure we placed the wires correctly, put the connector next to the smart LED box, and see if the red wire is actually aligned with the + marked on the box. If it does, connect the cable; if not, reverse the wires.

10. Connect the 6-pin AMS-style cable; you can connect it to the AMS or the buffer units. I prefer the buffer unit; if you want, you can buy a 24V power supply, connect the smart LED box directly to it, and bypass the printer completely.

11. Now you can place the smart box on the back of the printer; it should magnetize in place.
12. Cable management: you can use my magnetic cable organizers (not part of the kit; you can find them on MakerWorld) to manage the cable and make sure it's nice and secure.

13. AND you're done! You just installed the Smart Bambu Light Mod by The Printing Pilot.
All you have to do next is configure the Smart Bambu Light Mod. The device will create a hotspot; go to your phone and connect to it. A page should pop up, but if not, go to 192.168.4.1 in your phone browser.

And this is the page you will see. You can press the scan button to see the available networks around you, choose your Wi-Fi network, enter your password, then go down and continue with the setup process. All the information there can be found on your printer screen. Enter the printer IP and Local access code, then press Connect. The smart LED device will automatically find the serial number.
If something doesn't work and you need to go back to that page, you can find the new IP address on your router and connect to the smart device via your phone or computer using the new IP. (You can also use an IP scanner app to do that)
If you put the wrong Wi-Fi credentials and the device can't connect to the internet, it will fall back to transmitting the hotspot again, and you will be able to connect directly to it.
AND THAT'S IT! you've made it! I hope you will enjoy the best Smart LED system for Bambu Lab printers.
